About this Position
Oxford Civil Group Inc. is a growing heavy civil construction company specializing in Sewer and Watermain Construction. We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented team player for a full-time Estimator/ Project Manager position.
The Estimator/Project Manager’s experience and critical thinking skills will be crucial in both preparing construction estimates and supporting our on-site supervisors to the successful, timely completion of assigned projects. You will communicate respectfully and effectively with clients, management, and staff to keep projects on track. You are punctual, well organized, and have great attention to detail.

Responsibilities
- Report directly and work in conjunction with Senior Estimator/Project Manager
- Prepare complete and accurate take-offs for I.C.I., municipal, and private servicing contracts Review tender documents/drawings and complete construction cost estimates in conjunction with Senior Estimator/ Project Manager
- Develop and document a scope of work for I.C.I. projects
- Develop preliminary construction schedules for project completion
- Assist in preparing and issuing Purchase Orders and Subcontracts
- Develop and Execute project documentation requirements (i.e. Traffic control, Watermain Commissioning, Overhead Hydro Safety Plans, Project Site Binders) Resolve problems as they arise, recommend measures to Senior Management to improve productivity. Monitor job progress and report to management, engineers, etc
- Attend Job progress meetings both internally and with Clients/ Engineers as required
- Work closely and provide support to Site Supervisors and Construction Manager
- Perform additional assignments and responsibilities as assumed or requested from time
- to time Must be prepared to work under pressure and be self-motivated.
Requirements
- Post Secondary Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- C.Tech or C.E.T. is considered an asset
- Proven experience with 2-5 years in I.C.I. and Sewer and Watermain construction in Ontario
- preferred
- Proficient in MS Office, MS project and MS Excel Software
- Experience with Bid 2 Win Estimating Software is considered an asset
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OHSA guidelines
- Ability to read drawings, contract documents and soils reports
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to communicate and report effectively, both verbally and written
- Problem-solving abilities
- Self-Motivated, Punctual and Reliable
- G Class Driver’s License
